Swim Team Co-Directors

Cathy Durrette returns to our team as SRA Co-Director this year.  Joining Cathy is Jen Walker. They are looking forward to working with our awesome coaching staff and swimmers and meeting new families at the Happiest Pool in the World! S-R-A!

Mike Peters – Head Coach


Mike Peters, Head Coach, returns to Southampton for his 20th season. A native New Yorker and a  graduate of Brown University, Mike competed on a national level on the Brown swim team and has coached on the high school, college and US Swimming levels. Mike is a math teacher at The Collegiate School and the Head Coach for Collegiate’s swim program.

Emily Garrett – Assistant Head Coach

Emily is very happy to return for her sixth summer coaching her favorite Swordfish! After 12 years on the team, she is thankful to still be a part of this amazing community. When she is not coaching, Emily teaches 5th grade at Alberta Smith Elementary. Let’s have another fantastic season!


Ian Donnellan Assistant Swim Coach

Ian Donnellan is excited to be fulfilling his dream of coaching for the Swordfish! He has a background in coaching as well as 12 years of swimming experience. Ian plays football, lacrosse, and swims for Freeman High School. He is looking forward to maintaining the same loving, yet competitive environment that he grew up in for the next generation of Swordfish.

Lily Hunnicutt – Assistant Swim Coach


Lily Hunnicutt is super excited for her third season of coaching for SRA! She has been swimming with Southampton since she was 5 and swam for the Collegiate swim team for 6 years. Lily currently attends JMU and is looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new swimmers this year! Go Swordfish!!

Skylar Mullins -Assistant Swim Coach

Skylar has been swimming at Southampton since she was 8, and she is excited to be coaching the Swordfish again this summer. She is currently a senior at Collegiate School and is excited to swim one last summer before heading to UVA in the fall. She swims year-round and enjoys painting and playing tennis. Skylar can’t wait to coach and swim again for the best team ever!

Porter Hudgins – Assistant Swim Coach

Porter Hudgins is ecstatic for his first year of coaching! He grew up around Southampton, following in his older brothers’ footsteps and joining swim when he was 5. He brings positive energy and fun to the team. He plays soccer, basketball, and baseball at The New Community School where he is a rising junior; he’s looking forward to meeting and seeing new people. Go Swordfish!
