Coaches & Directors

Jamie Maccaroni

Swim Team Director

Jamie Maccaroni, our SRA Swim Team Director, and her husband Mac have to two swimmers on the team – Vivi, a Junior, and Leo, a Mite. Jamie is a lifelong swimmer, growing up on the Florida panhandle where swimming comes before walking. Jamie competed on her high school swim team and still enjoys swimming in open water races including the Chesapeake Bay 4-miler. She is excited to work with the coaching staff and swimmers and looks forward to meeting new swim team families and seeing familiar faces in and beside the pool.

Mike Peters

Head Coach

Mike Peters, our Head Coach, returns to Southampton for his sixteenth season. A native New Yorker and a graduate of Brown University, Mike competed on a national level on the Brown swim team and has coached on the high school, college and US Swimming levels. Mike is a math teacher at The Collegiate School and the Head Coach for Collegiate’s swim program.

Sam Kettlewell-Sites

Assistant Swim Coach

Sam Kettlewell-Sites is a fourth year returning coach and a dedicated Swordfish who swam for Southampton for 14 years. He is currently a junior at James Madison University, majoring in Integrated Science and Technology. He continues his swimming on JMU’s club team and currently serves as the secretary of the team. He is looking forward to returning to Southampton for another great summer of swimming.

Danny Lynch

Assistant Swim Coach

Danny is excited to join the SRA coaching staff for the first time this summer! He has been a Swordfish since the age of five and has competed year-round since the age of nine (first for the Richmond Racers, and later for Poseidon Swimming). Danny is currently a sophomore at Washington and Lee University double majoring in Economics and Spanish. Also at W&L, he is a member of the varsity swim team and earned First Team All Conference his freshman year. Before W&L, Danny attended Trinity Episcopal School where he swam all four years. Sadly, this past summer he graduated from the Southampton Swim Team and is no longer allowed to compete. However, he’s super pumped that he is able to come back – as a coach this time – and may try and sneak into a couple of races.

Annie Mahoney

Assistant Swim Coach

Annie is thrilled to be coaching for Southampton for the first time this summer! She has loved being a member and captain of the Collegiate Varsity Swim team and a few other swim teams over the years. In the fall, she will be a freshman in college and hopes to study political science and swim on a club team. She can’t wait for the summer and is so excited to cheer on the swordfish!

Noah Ratliff

Assistant Swim Coach

Noah Ratliff is delighted to be following in his sisters’ footsteps as a coach of the Best Team on Earth. A Swordfish since the age of 5, Noah will bring skills honed through years of year round swim and countless hours of sharks and minnows. In the (few) hours that he is not swimming, Noah enjoys guitar, Lincoln Douglas debate, and computer science.

Lily Hunnicutt

Mite Coach

Lily is super excited to be coaching at Southampton for the first time this year. She has swum for Southampton since she was 5 years old and has been swimming for Collegiate School for 4 years now. You may have seen Lily working in the Southampton snack bar last year or cheering on the pool deck in the past years. She hopes to be a positive influence on young swimmers like the coaches she had in the past were for her. Go Swordfish!!

Hallie Perry

Mite Coach

Hallie is very excited to have the opportunity to coach this summer for the first time! She is a rising junior at Trinity Episcopal School, where she swims varsity. She has swum year-round with Richmond Racers for the past six years. This will be her seventh season as a Swordfish. She can’t wait to work with the team this summer!
