May 26 and Saturdays: 10 a.m.–8 p.m.
May 27 and Sundays: 12 p.m.–8 p.m.
Weekdays, May 29–June 8: 1–8 p.m.
Weekdays beginning June 11: 10 a.m.–8 p.m.

We are pleased to have Douglas Aquatics managing
the SRA pools and entrance gate
again this year, with a mix of new and old faces
for our lifeguards.
Please let the guards know of any concerns you
have about the safety or
cleanliness of the pools.
Please remember: Do not talk to the guards when
they are on the lifeguard
stands unless they have spoken to you first. This
is a safety concern,
and safety comes first at Southampton.
We are very excited to have Kirk Price back
as Pool Manager for a
third straight year.
Please give him a warm welcome when you see him
at the pool.
Pool Entrance Gate
Gate guards will man the pool entrance again this year; a guard will ask your name,
check it against the list of paid members, and ask you to sign in.
The guard will also collect and monitor our $3 guest passes.
Please remember to sign in. This helps us deter-mine busy and slow times and
helps us make decisions to make us the best recreation association in the area.
Family Night Thursdays
Join us for a great time at Family Night, Thursdays June 14 to August 16, 6—9 p.m.
This is a great time to pack a picnic dinner or purchase one from the snack bar
and to let the kids have fun with their friends and big floats in the pools.
This is the only time during the pool season that large floats are permitted in the pools.
We Need a Few Good Lifeguards
Pool contractor Douglas Aquatics encourages any eligible SRA member interested
in lifeguarding to contact them by visiting http://www.douglasaquatics.com or by
calling 232-0225. This is a great opportunity for teens to have a job and still
see their friends. Members of the swim team need not worry: Douglas will try
to work around meet and practice schedules. Where else can you get a job like that?

Friends of the Pool Needs Members
If you love the pool, this group is for you.
We focus on managing and beautifying the pools and their surroundings.
Watch for e-mails and posters announcing meetings and events for this fun group.
Morning Lap Swimming
Morning lap swim runs Monday, June 18 through mid- to late-August,
depending on how many families sign up.
Lanes are available Monday-Friday, 6:30–8:30 a.m.
The fee for morning lap swim is $25, payable by
check to the SRA office.

Adult Swim Conditioning
This class focuses on developing technique in the four main strokes: freestyle,
backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. It is taught by Collegiate head swim
coach Mike Stott. Underwater videotaping is included.
The $70 class is open to all levels of swimmers. It will be held at the upper pool,
7–8 p.m., on Mon., June 11; Wed., June 13; Sun., June 17; Tues., June 19;
Thurs., June 21; Sun., June 24; Tues., June 26; and Thurs., June 28.

Lifeguard Appreciation Days
Help us show our fantastic lifeguards how much we appreciate
them during Lifeguard Appreciation Days, July 7–13.
Please consider bringing in some goodies for our lifeguards
during that week. Watch for more information about this
important week!
Pool Parties
SRA is a wonderful, safe place to host a birthday or special event during
regular pool hours; please consider our great facilities when making plans
for your next party. Each non-member guest is only $3. This is the best deal in
town for a birthday party! Due to the volume of activity in the summer and
the importance of safety, all pool parties—including birthdays—must be
arranged through the office; just give us a call at 272-7401 to make sure
your date isn’t too crowded.
Pool Rental Rates
You can rent out the SRA pool after hours for your special events.
Call the office at 272-7401 to make a reservation.
Please note: One lifeguard is required for every 20 people; each lifeguard is
$10/hr. A refundable, advance deposit is required to reserve the pool:
$50 for 50 or fewer people, $75 for 50-100, and $100 for 100+.
