Adult Swim Conditioning
Adult Swim Clinics
For the seventh year, Southampton will offer evening adult swim clinics. They are led by Collegiate head swim coach Mike Stott.
Session One - Stroke Clinic June 21 - July 7, 2009
Emphasis for the first eight sessions will be on developing technique in the four main strokes, i.e. freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. We'll have excellent demonstration by some of the state's best swimmers. We promise no time trials (unless you request them), but a physical and educational opportunity in a great setting. Underwater videotaping of participants will be integral to the sessions.
Recent graduates (among others) include Paul Toler, Johanna Minich, Wiley Hunnicutt, Holly Timberline and Caroline Kettlewell-Sites.
Open to all level of swimmers, the first eight sessions on technique will be held at the SRA upper pool from 7 – 8 p.m. on the following dates: Sun. June 21, Tues. June 23, Thurs. June 25, Sun. June 28, Tues. June 30, Thurs. July 2, Sun. July 5 and Tues. July 7.
Session Two - Conditioning Clinic July 12 - July 28, 2009
Session Two will focus on conditioning and gaining speed. Last year's attendees made considerable gains in their aerobic capacity and aside from some snide remarks made to the coach appeared to be genuinely appreciative of the opportunity to stretch themselves in a supervised swimming setting.
Dates for the eight sessions will be: Sun. July 12, Tues. July 14, Thurs. July 16, Sun. July 19, Tues. July 21, Sun. July 26, Tues. July 28 and Thurs. July 30. Sessions last from 7 - 8:30. Fee is $80 payable through the office.
Register for clinics through the SRA office, $80. Questions, email Mike Stott at michaeljstott@comcast.net.
Deepwater Aqua

Sign up by contacting the SRA office. Classes are limited to 20 participants.
Twice a week: Monday & Wednesdays, June 22-July 22; 10-10:45 am; $40
Once a week: Wednesdays, June 24-July 22; 6:15-7 pm; $20
